Welcome
Welcome to West Bretton Primary School, a vibrant and nurturing school located in the heart of our beautiful village. We are a small, rural primary school brimming with enthusiasm and energy, where we aim for every child to feel they are cherished, happy, and valued.
Catering to children aged 3 to 11, we embark on a learning journey abundant in quality experiences. We firmly believe that childhood is a journey and not a race; each pupil follows their unique path, flourishing both academically and personally. Our commitment is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential, motivated by the challenge to be their very best.
We do this using our 8 core principles of ‘The West Bretton Ways’: Respect, Integrity, Determination, Community, Kindness, Empathy, Sportsmanship and Tolerance.
We pride ourselves on providing an exemplary personal development programme, offering a wealth of opportunities for our pupils. Our deep-rooted connections with the local community enrich our school life, embracing locality and families in all that we do.
With high expectations for behaviour and academics, our dedicated staff are unwavering in their commitment to delivering a creative, rich, and diverse curriculum. We value our pupils’ voices, listening to their views and aspirations as we strive to expand their horizons through the Arts, Sport, and a broad, balanced curriculum accessible to all.
Having served at this school for 14 years, I am devoted to continually enhancing our educational environment for the benefit of our children and community.
Please look through the pages of our site to find out more about our children’s learning journeys with us. We hope you find it useful and if you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Cawthorne in our school office, the number for which is 01924 830204.
